Hi, I’m Max.

I’m a donor-conceived person and licensed social worker with a vision:

To co-create a world where banks, clinics, agencies, and professionals foresee and respond to the human impacts of donor conception beyond the cradle.

As a consultant, trainer, & speaker, I equip professionals and organizations to:

  • Improve patient and donor experiences

  • Increase diversity, cultural sensitivity, and equity

  • Respond to rapidly growing media attention and the need for lifelong support to DCP, parents, & donors

Systems thinking comes from my DNA.

I was 23 when I met the woman I’d always been told I could never know: my parents’ egg donor. “I’m elated,” the message beamed. “Anonymity was my only option. I wondered every day about who was out there… here you are.”

The feeling was familiar. Donor conception industry practices shaped the course of my family’s lives — and hers. Unable to find Asian options, my Chinese American parents used eggs from a white donor. I couldn’t make sense of my multiracial appearance as I grew up. I didn’t even know the donor’s ethnicity; I had no records, and the clinic wouldn’t speak to me.

During anti-Asian hate spikes in 2020, my struggle with identity drove me to co-create the community I needed. Piloting peer support groups led me to develop resources and deliver professional education webinars. Years of story after story from DCP, parents, donors, and professional allies opened my eyes to the highs, lows, and human impacts of industry practices.

Consumer DNA tests reveal unkept family limits and inaccurate donor information, damaging public trust.

Questions and medical history requests go unanswered by banks, clinics, & agencies unprepared to help.

Trending documentaries, podcasts, & Tiktok campaigns broadcast the industry’s missteps, warning potential patients and donors away from banks and clinics.

I realized that professionals and organizations “upstream”
are inextricably linked to the families they impact “downstream.”

When policies and practices are not people-first,
everyone pays a cost.

Donor conception’s impacts reach beyond the cradle

and show back up to industry inboxes, support desks, and doors. Let’s create a future no one has to crisis-manage.
